Would you prefer to go under the knife to lose weight, rather than do exercise or change your diet? A new survey says most Brits would.
A study by The Good Surgeon Guide, the UK’s leading cosmetic treatment review website, has found that over half of Britons (56%) would rather lose their additional weight by having weight-loss surgery than eating less and exercising more.
And it’s women who are the most likely to take that route, with 78% saying they would opt for the surgical option, because it would "work immediately" and "give great results". Liposuction was the most popular choice, with 34% of women choosing this procedure. The second most popular surgical choice was a Gastric Bypass – an irreversible procedure – with 26% of women saying it was their preferred option.
Men, on the other hand, would rather fight the flab head on, with 52% saying they would prefer to lose their extra pounds by increasing the amount they exercise, saying that "jogging is easy" and "exercise is less painful than surgery". The majority of men polled (63%) believed that surgery was "the lazy option".
Meanwhile, just 7% of men said they would stop eating and drinking their favourite things to lose the bulge, before exercising more frequently.
So what route would you take to lose weight – exercise, diet or knife …and why?
